Applications opened in late 2025 and remain open until 31 May 2026, which means producers are currently hand-picking personalities bold enough to lie convincingly… or sniff out deception under pressure.

- People who can handle isolation, suspicion and serious mind games
No cast has been announced yet but if past seasons are anything to go by, expect a mix of everyday Brits from wildly different backgrounds. That contrast is what makes the betrayals hit even harder.
Filming Location & Timeline
Season 5 is expected to return to its now-iconic setting:

The dramatic turrets, misty landscapes and candlelit roundtable are all part of the magic. Filming is expected to take place in summer or early autumn 2026, once casting is finalized.
Production typically lasts around three to four weeks, followed by several months of editing before the show hits screens.
Will the Host Return?
While the BBC hasn’t made a formal announcement yet, it’s widely expected that Claudia Winkleman will return to front the fifth season. Her sharp delivery at the roundtable and signature dramatic pauses have become a huge part of the show’s identity.
It would be hard to imagine the castle without her.
