Alex Márquez Warns Ducati’s “Out of Control” Politics Could Break Tardozzi’s Big Promise

Alex Márquez isn’t mincing words about the turbulence inside Ducati’s MotoGP camp. The Gresini rider says the situation has become “out of control,” and it’s threatening to derail a reward team boss Davide Tardozzi once promised him.

Earlier this year, Tardozzi publicly hinted that Márquez’s breakthrough performances including his Catalan GP win would earn him factory-spec machinery for 2026. But Márquez now admits that behind-the-scenes politics and tangled priorities at Ducati have thrown that pledge into doubt.

> “It’s not about results anymore,” Márquez reportedly told journalists. “There are too many interests and decisions that don’t make sense. Things feel out of control.”

Sources close to the Bologna factory point to three major roadblocks:

A complex pecking order between the factory squad and its satellite outfits.

Contractual hurdles over how upgrades and hardware are allocated.

Intense focus on marquee riders like Marc Márquez and Pecco Bagnaia, which leaves less room for satellite stars.

Márquez stressed that the issue isn’t just about personal gain  it’s about keeping promises and valuing riders who deliver:

For Tardozzi, the challenge lies in balancing politics with performance. Delivering on his word could bolster Ducati’s reputation for fairness; failure could fracture relationships within its satellite ranks.
