Darth Vader’s a classic bad guy – super strong, scary, and hard to forget. But even now, people still wonder about some things about him.
Here are five head-scratchers about the Dark Lord:
1. Seriously, No One Knew He Was Luke’s Dad?
Vader was a big shot in the Empire. Still, nobody figured out that Anakin Skywalker was Luke Skywalker’s father. I mean, Vader was famous, and Skywalker isn’t exactly a common name. It’s weird that connection wasn’t obvious sooner.
2. His Suit: Life Support or a Prison?
Okay, the suit kept him alive, but it also seemed to slow him down and hurt him all the time. The Empire was rich, so couldn’t they have made him something better? Something that didn’t suck?
3. Feared, But Not Always Obeyed?
Vader was scary strong, but people in the Empire talked back to him all the time. You’d think they’d be more careful, knowing he could just crush them.
4. Redemption: Why So Late?
Anakin was a good guy once, but it took him forever to come back from the dark side. It wasn’t until his son was in trouble. It makes you wonder what took so long.
5. Leia? Not His Daughter?
Vader knew right away that Luke was strong with the Force, but he never realized Leia was his kid, even though they met a few times. That’s one of the biggest questions in the whole story.
