One Piece Film: Red was first revealed on November 21, 2021, and it offers a new story from Eiichiro Oda’s amazing mind.

Oda’s involvement as executive producer, character designer, and script reviewer makes it clear that fans will like One Piece Film: Red when it comes out.

Goro Taniguchi will also direct One Piece Film: Red, which will be his second collaboration with the series after One Piece: Defeat the Pirate Ganzaki in 1998. According to Oda, Goro Taniguchi was the first person who ever animated Luffy.

Toei Animation has revealed that the new feature will be part of the series’ 1000th episode anniversary. The script will be written by Tsutomu Kuroiwa, who previously worked on One Piece Film Gold.

One Piece Film: “Red Release Date”

One Piece Film: Red will have its Japanese premiere on August 6, 2022, followed by a world premiere on July 22, 2022, at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan.

Japan has been celebrating June 22 as One Piece Day since 2017. This is to remember when the manga was first published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump.

According to the announcement by Thai film distributor, Japan Anime Movie (JAM), One Piece Film: Red will premiere in Thailand on August 25, 2022.

In a Twitter confirmation, One Piece Film: Red will be released in France on August 10, 2022.

Meanwhile, in Italy, One Piece Film: Red will be premiering in autumn 2022. At the time of writing, no exact date has been set for the release.

Toei Animation and Crunchyroll have collaborated to bring One Piece Film: Red to theaters in North America, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand this fall.

However, no specific date has been established. The movie will be available in Japanese with English subtitles as well as in an English dub.

Also, Toei Animation will hold a panel at Anime Expo on July 2 to discuss the fall theatrical release of One Piece Film: Red.

Is One Piece Film: Red a Canon movie?

One Piece Film: Red, like the previous 14 films in the series, will be a standalone story with no direct connection to the series. As a result, it will most likely not be referenced in the original canon series.
