MAFS Star Lauren Dunn Speaks Out After Ex-Boyfriend Ryan Crowley Strangled Her During Assault
Married at First Sight star Lauren Dunn has spoken publicly for the first time following disturbing allegations that her ex-boyfriend, former AFL player Ryan Crowley, violently assaulted her—including strangling her—during a terrifying incident at her Perth home.
According to authorities, the alleged assault occurred after Crowley became furious over email exchanges between Dunn and another man. The situation escalated rapidly, with Crowley allegedly throwing Dunn to the ground and strangling her, then smothering her with a pillow until she lost consciousness. He also reportedly confiscated her phone and laptop to prevent her from seeking help.
The violence didn’t end there. When Dunn tried to leave the apartment the next morning, Crowley allegedly assaulted her again. She was finally able to escape and fled to a nearby café to get help. Crowley was later arrested at a Perth train station.
He has been charged with nine domestic violence-related offences, including impeding breathing, unlawful deprivation of liberty, making threats, and illegal computer use. Crowley has since been released on bail and is due to appear in court again on July 24.
In a heartfelt message shared afterward, Dunn revealed that she had endured a pattern of abuse in the relationship for years. She said certain moments on Married at First Sight triggered her trauma and credited her TV husband Jono McCullough for supporting her during those difficult conversations.
Dunn’s story has brought renewed attention to the issue of domestic violence, and many have applauded her for speaking out with courage and honesty.
