It’s been years since Ragnar Lothbrok met his heartbreaking fate on Vikings, but fans still haven’t let go and they’re not shy about saying so. Social media is filled with posts, edits, and petitions asking for Travis Fimmel to return to the Vikings universe in some way.
Whether it’s a prequel, flashback, or spin-off cameo, viewers are convinced that Vikings just isn’t the same without its legendary king. And as Vikings: Valhalla continues to expand the saga, whispers of Fimmel’s return keep getting louder.
So… what does the man himself think?
In a recent interview, Travis Fimmel admitted that while he’s grateful for the love fans still show Ragnar, he’s careful about returning to past roles. “It’s a story we told, and I think it ended beautifully,” he said. “But you never know… stranger things have happened.”
That little “you never know” was all fans needed to light up the internet. Threads on Reddit and fan pages exploded with theories from Ragnar appearing in dream sequences to an entirely new series exploring his younger days.
One fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
> “I’d watch anything with Travis Fimmel as Ragnar again. I don’t care if it’s just him eating a chicken leg in Valhalla.”
Whether or not it happens, one thing is certain: the legend of Ragnar Lothbrok and the magnetic pull of Travis Fimmel is far from over.
