Why butcher the characters so much? The only thing that’s the same with the OG work is the names. Rosaline was a much stronger character in the original. which is saying something considering she didn’t even have any lines in the play. Why the fuq would a noble Italian girl from the 15th century sleep with a dude before marriage? Ffs, if you’re going to do this sh*t, at least do a little research.

Also, this is a western work. So no novel. Of course, people are going to lap this up too. It has all the generic shit, including the one-dimensional side couple who exist to make the MC look better.

I wonder if this is going to keep the themes the original had. You know how a family’s hatred and feud had dire consequences for the lives of their children? How pointlessly stupid blood feuds are, of course not. Judging how shitty and nonsensical the first few chapters were, this will probably be “The story of how Rosalines was such an awesome girl boss who everyone fell in love with, and if you hate her, you’re a whore.” The otome isekai genre has had dire consequences for Shoujo and Josei.

Both ROMEO AND JULIET were children.  Naive children who were pushed into taking drastic steps because of the hatred between their families That was the whole tragedy. But this sht is going to ignore them and make them act like 45-year-old mustache-twirling villians.

Go Away Romeo is an upcoming anime that follows Rosaline’s journey to find a way to keep Romeo away from the city of Verona, while still holding onto the memories of their love. The series will explore the complexities of family, loyalty, and love, as well as the power of fate. 

The anime is not yet confirmed, whether it will have anime or not. But in my opinion, I think the series will be produced by the animation studio Paintword.
